CPR

CPR Courses

Level A: covers skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking for people aged 8 and over; intended for workplace and general public. 4 hours

Level B: covers skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking in Adults, Children, and Babies; intended for families, parents, general public, and child care professionals. 5 hours

Level C: covers all CPR Level B course material and includes two-rescuer Adult child CPR; intended for professional rescuers, (i.e. Police, Firefighters, First Responders, Workplace First Aid Teams, and Lifeguards). 6 hours


Standard First Aid

Comprehensive First Aid & CPR training for individuals who need training for child care or early childhood education work, or who simply want more knowledge to respond to babies' and children's injuries and emergencies at home. The course covers a variety of topics from basic first aid such as cardiovascular emergencies, CPR Level B, choking, airway and breathing emergencies, and prevention of disease transmission to more in-depth topics such as sudden medical conditions and injuries to the head and spine.

Includes an introduction to Automated External Defibrillation (AED).

Certification length - 3 years

Course length - 16 hours inclusive of rest breaks

Simple First Aid & CPR techniques taught in an interactive environment, for individuals who want an overview of First Aid & CPR for the workplace or home. The course covers skills needed to recognize, prevent and respond to cardiovascular emergencies for Adults, CPR Level A, and other topics such as choking, airway and breathing emergencies, and prevention of disease transmission.

Certification length - 3 years

Course length - 8 hours inclusive of rest breaks

Workplace Emergency First Aid (WEFA) - BC

Simple First Aid & CPR techniques taught in an interactive environment, for individuals who want an overview of First Aid & CPR for the workplace or home. The course covers skills needed to recognize, prevent and respond to cardiovascular emergencies for Adults, CPR Level A, and other topics such as choking, airway and breathing emergencies, and prevention of disease transmission. WorkSafe BC forms and appropriate regulations covered.

Recognized as equivalent to WorkSafe BC Occupational First Aid Level 1 in BC.

Certification length - 2 years

Course length - 8 hours inclusive of rest breaks

Marine Basic First Aid

Overview of First Aid & CPR techniques with scenarios taken from the marine/fishing industry for individuals who need a basic training level in First Aid & CPR for the marine industry. The course develops skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies for Adults, CPR Level A, and other topics including choking, airway and breathing emergencies and prevention of disease transmission.

Certification length - 3 years

Course length - 8 hours inclusive of rest breaks
